There are times in our lives when we want to move our relationship to a higher level. Maybe this is prompted by struggles, events or life stressors that have interrupted growth as a couple. Whatever the reason, you will find that I am understanding and grounded in the belief that a strong relationship is evidenced by each individual making the other a better person.
Why me?
- My post graduate training was in marriage and family counseling at the Family Therapy Practice Center in Washington, DC.
- For 40 years I have assisted couples and families in improving their communication and interactions with each other as well as with other family members.
- I have a strong understanding of the impact of substance abuse and chemical dependency issues on families.
- I have specific knowledge and experience to assist you in navigating complex challenges.
As your family therapist:
- I will work to understand the many perspectives and developmental dynamics occurring in the family interactions.
- I will assist you in understanding what adjustments may improve your interactions, communication and relationships.
- I may offer separate sessions to work with the entire family, subsets of the family (parents, siblings, specific parent-child, etc.) or individuals after we have defined the goals to be worked on.
I am licensed in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC and have a specific telehealth license for South Carolina and Florida. According to professional guidelines I can only treat individuals who live in those states. I operate virtually, although at times, can meet in person in the metro Washington area. I am glad to discuss further and address any specific needs you or your family may have.
