Through my career I have specialized in working with individuals ranging in age from 13 to older adults including the family unit. I am very cognizant of specific developmental needs and dynamics associated with each age group as the evaluation and development of treatment goals occurs.

Individual Therapy

Individual counseling allows the client a private, safe and comfortable setting to explore and express thoughts, feelings, habits, and experiences toward gaining an understanding of who they are versus who they want to be. This modality allows me to individualize strategies to help you meet your goals.

Family Therapy

I use family therapy as a way to educate, support and assist clients in improving their communication, interactions and relationships. Family therapy is useful in helping family members

  • identify how their behaviors affect others;
  • resolve conflicts within the family;
  • learn new ways of relating to each other and
  • improve communication between all family members.

Group Therapy

I separate treatment groups for the following age groups:

  • Adolescents
  • Young adults ages 18-23
  • Adults 24+

Treatment groups are a useful vehicle for growth, support and change. In our groups, you are with others who understand your situation and can assist in helping you to make the behavior changes necessary for continued growth. Groups can be used as a primary treatment tool or in conjunction with individual or family therapy depending on your needs. Group topics can include:

  • Substance abuse education and associated topics
  • Differentiating between substance use, substance abuse and chemical dependency
  • Managing mental health issues such anxiety, depression, or attention issues
  • Relapse and recovery
  • Differences between introversion and extroversion
  • Life skills
  • Anger management strategies
  • Recovery skills and strategies
  • Court, school, and social service system management
  • Developing positive coping skills
