I specialize in working with individuals from adolescence through adulthood and their families. This therapy focuses on the root causes of behavioral health concerns to provide insights, healthy coping skills, and tools for change to be applied to the individual or the family members.
Mental Health Issues
Mental health issues that I address include:
- Anxiety and stress
- Depression and grief
- Attention deficits and hyperactivity
- Obsessive/compulsion and phobias
- Anger management
- Substance use
- Image and self-esteem
- Behavioral issues
- Bipolar disorder
- Impulse control
Evaluations
All services begin with an evaluation to determine appropriate intervention strategies at the beginning of treatment. The evaluation is used to determine the severity of need and direction of treatment. The different types of evaluations I perform include:
- Mental health and mental status examinations
- Substance abuse evaluations
- Court evaluations (where an individual has a pending criminal case)
- Family Law case evaluations (where an individual or couple is going through a divorce or custody situation that requires a mental heath or substances abuse evaluation as a result of history or allegations)
- Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) evaluations (I am ASAM certified and listed on the Virginia Alcohol Safety (VASAP) list for evaluators and treatment)
- Anger management
I am licensed in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC and have a specific telehealth license for South Carolina and Florida. According to professional guidelines I can only treat individuals who live in those states. I operate virtually, although at times, can meet in person in the metro Washington area. I am glad to discuss further and address any specific needs you or your family may have.
